Mikaela and Joel | Sneak Peek

The thing about shooting weddings is they only happen once. The entire day is series of moments and firsts that can’t be recreated – the moment the bride puts on her dress, the first time to groom sees his bride, the first kiss, dance, and so on. These are all moments when you can’t just stop and ask, “Can we try that one more time?”

This past Saturday I had the honor of photographing a wedding reception at the Union Project. There was a sparkler exit planned for the end of the reception and I knew it was going to be an important moment. I wasn’t to nervous, because I had practiced for this shot, and I think the practice paid off.

Mikaela and Joel, and thank you for choosing me to document this important moment! I hope this image captures your excitement at the end of a long day of firsts. 🙂
