I met these two for the first time three days before their wedding. Engagement session on Wednesday, wedding on Saturday.
I’m not going to lie, I was nervous that it would be weird. Typically I like to meet with couples before they book, but Lisa and Avner live in the Philippines so that wasn’t really possible.
In reality I had nothing to worry about because Lisa and Avner are two of the kindest people ever! Their wedding had so many meaningful moments and beautiful details. Lisa and Avner met in Uganda and love to travel so many of their details and decor had an African flair.
Also, can we all just take a moment to admire Lisa’s beautiful dress and its stunning back. Seriously, I never get tired of looking at it.
Congrats Lisa and Avner on a wonderful wedding! Thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your celebration.
Lisa and Avner did a first look under the big weeping willow at Succop Nature Park.
Avner’s family is Orthodox Jewish so they had a traditional veiling ceremony before the wedding. During the veiling ceremony Avner pulled Lisa’s veil over her eyes and Lisa place a kippah on Avner’s head.
Lisa and Avner met while working in Uganda. They commissioned friends from Uganda to make small stuffed animals out of a traditional African kitenge fabric and then used them throughout the decor and as favors. There were brightly colored elephants, giraffe and rhinos everywhere!
When you have a lot of out of town guests sometimes helps to explain the cookie table. 🙂
