Hannah & Dan are Married!

Hannah and Dan got married Thanksgiving weekend at Laurelville Mennonite Church Center. The day was perfect, complete with snow and lots of family and friends. Being a part of this wedding was a reminder to me of all the things I have to be thankful for too. Looking back on the day these are a few things I remember being thankful for:

1. Snow. It’s not every day I get to photograph a wedding in the snow. And I was especially thankful that Hannah and Dan were willing to brave the flakes and take pictures outside.

2. My husband and helper Joe. “Can you move the light back 12 inches? And now to the right? Can you grab me a memory car? I need that lens. Where is the reflector?” These are all things I probably said over and over throughout the day, and Joe always responded with “Yes, I can do that.” So thank you, Joseph, for being my right hand man. 🙂

3. Someone taking pictures of me taking pictures. You have no idea how much it means to me when the family of the couple requests photos of me doing my job. They don’t just want to take the same picture or pose I have set up, they want a photo of me taking it. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in documenting an event, and trying to do it without disrupting the event, that I don’t realize they might want to remember I was there.

4. Hannah and Dan, I was so thankful for the thought and intention that you put into your wedding. Everything was meaningful, and everything was totally ‘you’. These are the kinds of wedding I love to photograph most. So thank you for putting yourselves into this wedding and for making it your own. I hope you enjoy the photos and that they capture some of your favorite moments of the day.

Hannah and Dan had an awesome way of releasing tables for dinner – the first table to stand up and sing a camp song got to eat next. As you can see below, this song had a moose in it.
